Why do the Japanese always want to know how old someone is ?
We tend to rank people according to age.

Yes I am the same… When I meet someone I wonder how old they are… for example, men who may be my friend or BF … we respect people who are older than us… and it also depend on the situation such as business occasion or other. We change of how to speak to them by age with respect. In romance, we really curious to know about him and image his life.. When my friend had a BF, I always ask her that how old is he? When I had a BF, my friends always ask me that how old is he? What is his job? How he looks like? Of course, age is not most important information as love. But still I care about how old he is… I am a 35 years old now, and I prefer my partner is near my age.. If I have to say how old is between 32 to 45 years old. I am not attracted to much younger men since before. I can’t image I am dating with twenties boy. Impossible!! I must say that because of I am not mature enough or independent enough. ?! I don’t know. I must admit younger boys look sweet, (not all of them, good looking one only ..haha), but not for me. I attracted to men who did many experience and know about many things in life which I don’t know and I respect him.
I realized that age is not so important for western people. I hope I could be the same like them. But I still care about age and how it would be look like when me and his are walking on the street together to think if we look great or sweet couple to be showed or not.
If Japanese girls ask you about your age, please tell them the truth. We get shocked if we are said lie from men who we are attracted. We are all human, we will love you who you are.
